NICU Physician Assistant
There is an urgent need for experienced Neonatal NP’s or Physician Assistants now available in Southern Connecticut looking for a full time, permanent opportunity.
This hospital is a Trauma Center and sees nearly 100k ER visits annually. They also see approximately 275k outpatient visits and perform over 11k surgeries per year. They offer a full spectrum of services but are especially well known for their Cancer Program, Orthopedic Care and Women’s Services. Their clinical quality is much lauded as they recently received the award for "Recognition of Commitment to Quality Innovation” by a regional organization. The Joint Commission also recognized them as being a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures.
There are two positions now available for full-time evenings and nights. This hospital will consider new grad Neonatal NP’s or PA’s who have completed a NICU residency or who have worked full time in Level III or IV NICU.
Working within the Division of Neonatology, this position will have a dotted line reporting structure to the Division of Pediatrics. Day-to-day, the NICU NP/PA will report to an attending Neonatologist or a pediatric hospitalist.
The Labor and Delivery unit is busy, averaging 2500 births per year with a strong Maternal Fetal Medicine department. They are Baby Friendly Certified and have instituted both Skin to Skin and Mother Baby rooming policies to support breastfeeding and fostering strong mother-infant bonding.
The Neonatal NP will work with babies of all levels of acuity. This hospital is a referral center; so many babies that are quite high acuity are treated here. This includes surgical patients, premature infants and babies with congenital birth defects.
This hospital is located in Southern Connecticut, close enough to New York City to enjoy the theater, dining and nightlife found there, but outside the most expensive and congested areas of the region. Within the community itself, there are great restaurants, festivals and fairs and lots to do. There is a thriving local economy and prospects for housing are good.
