A short-term acute care hospital located in Southern Maine is currently searching for an experienced Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join their established healthcare system.
This acute care hospital is home to just under 100 licensed beds and has a history going back more than 100 years. What once began as a small 10-room hospital has now become a much larger healthcare organization that provides a long list of comprehensive clinical services. The Oncology Nurse Practitioner will join a health system that offers care for family and primary medicine, home and hospice care, rehabilitation, oncology, emergency care, pediatrics, surgical services, cardiac care, laboratory services, radiology and imaging, as well as maternal child health services. This health system is known to embrace the surrounding communities and provide quality healthcare in a friendly welcoming environment.
This hospital is closely affiliated with a regional medical institution that gives the ability to offer patients world-class cancer care. The Oncology Nurse Practitioner will work within an oncology department that provides treatment for a number of cancers and hematological disorders. The Oncology Nurse Practitioner will work within a large clinical team made up of primary care providers, sup-specialty physicians, technologists, clinical specialists, and advanced nurses to combat the effects of cancer for each individual patient.
The Oncology Nurse Practitioner will work alongside the Oncologist to evaluate and assist treat patients within the oncology department. The Oncology Nurse Practitioner will also act as a clinical resource within the oncology service line and will work with patients, patient families, and staff in regards to clinical education. The Oncology Nurse Practitioner will work within both inpatient and outpatient settings to provide quality cancer care. The Oncology Nurse Practitioner will have prior inpatient hospital oncology experience.
