A large hospital in the Central Valley, CA, is looking for a Neurosurgery Physician Assistant to join their team.
This award winning Level II Trauma hospital is part of a large hospital network that is going strong financially. They are an Accredited Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, and they have around the clock brain and spine experts for even the most challenging neurological conditions. They also have a Neurological Critical Care Unit and Neurology Step Down Unit.
Reporting to the Lead Physician Assistant (PA) and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Neurology PA also works under the supervision of the surgeon. The Neuro PA also collaborates with Nursing Directors, Nursing Managers, and staff, to ensure quality standards are met within the department. The Neurology Stroke Physician Assistant must have a clean DEA License and California PA License. Experience in assisting neuro procedures is also a requirement for this PA.
Responsibilities for the PA Neurological include performing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic tasks related to surgery and trauma, and also acts as a first or second assistant in surgery. Participating in pre and post-operative patient care, complying with all appropriate safety and infection control laws, and performing services with the utmost efficiency of patient care, are also duties for the PA. The Neuro Stroke Physician Assistant will also participate in quality assessments and continuous quality improvement and performance improvement activities.
