The NP will work in a Level 1 Trauma Unit, which sees about 1000 critically ill patients each year. The Pediatric ICU NP will diagnose and manage patients’ acute and chronic diseases, conduct and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, and serve as a health care resource. The Nurse Practitioner PICU will have the opportunity to be part of a devoted team known for treating complicated cases and upholding impressive health outcomes.
The Pediatric ICU Nurse Practitioner will work in a 21 bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, which has plans for expansion. The Nurse Practitioner will report to the PICU Manager and Lead Nurse Practitioner. The PICU team realizes that the family of the child needs care too and is committed to treating the family. The PICU cares for severe illnesses, certain types of cancer, trauma injuries, neurosurgery, and transplants.
