An amazing opportunity awaits a Certified Nurse Midwife to join a team of 7 other Nurse Midwives at a women’s birthing center located in a great location in North Carolina. The Certified Nurse Midwife will report to the Clinical Midwifery Director and work from a beautiful stand alone 3 story clinic ten minutes from the medical campus.
The qualified Nurse Midwife will have the following:
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina
- Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board
- Current Approval to Practice granted by the NC Midwifery Joint Committee OR meets qualifications for Approval to Practice pending Physician Supervision requirement
- Graduate degree in Nursing or Midwifery
The Certified Nurse Midwife will provide in office care to primary care, wellness, lactation, gynecology, and child-bearing patients within the scope of a Certified Nurse Midwife utilizing the established Clinical Practice Guidelines within the practice and takes 24-hour call shifts in rotation with other midwives in practice covering laboring patients at the birth center and at transferring hospital, as needed. The Certified Nurse Midwife will also assist in developing, implementing and maintaining compliance with policies and procedures for the midwifery practice as needed and requested, maintain compliance with ACNM, AABC and all state and federal laws and regulations, assist with maintaining appropriate systems to assure quality patient care such as participation emergency skills drills and in-services; participates and utilizes quality management principles through weekly chart review and participate in selected local, state and national organizations that affect nurse midwifery practice (ACNM, NC ACNM, and AABC).
