This Neonatal Nurse Practitioner will practice in the busy Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) alongside Neonatologists, Hospitalists, 4 NICU Nurse Practitioners, specially trained Staff Nurses, Mental Health professionals and Lactation Consultants. This teaching hospital puts a strong emphasis on providing a holistic approach to the treatment of neonates so the ideal candidate will be a team player who enjoys a collaborative environment.
The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner will work in a NICU that sees very acute patients, which includes patients born in the hospital’s own High-Risk Delivery department, as well as those transported from neighboring hospitals. The NICU uses cutting-edge technology to treat the most severely ill newborns.
The Labor and Delivery unit averages 1200 births annually and offers private rooms for families, extensive breastfeeding support and Board Certified Physicians that specialize in their respective areas of expertise. Certified Nurse Midwives offer support and guidance for families preferring a natural and peaceful birthing experience. This department also specializes in high-risk deliveries, so that moms and babies have immediate access to the NICU and specialized staff.
