A prestigious regionally known medical center in Massachusetts is currently searching for an experienced Neonatal ICU Nurse Practitioner to join their accredited healthcare team.
The Neonatal ICU Nurse Practitioner will work within a 400+ bed state-of-the-art medical center that has consistently ranked among the Top 25% of Hospitals in the Nation. The Neonatal ICU Nurse Practitioner will work in a supportive and stable clinical environment where they can practice and expand their skills.
The medical center boasts a cutting-edge 40 bed Level III NICU that is a top destination for newborn that may require more complex medical treatment. The Neonatal ICU Nurse Practitioner will work with infants who may be born prematurely, have congenital anomaly, or is coping with infections, respiratory distress, or any other critical concern. The Neonatal ICU Nurse Practitioner will work within an advanced team of clinicians including a team of highly trained Neonatal Nurses, Neonatal Physicians, Physicians Assistants, Nurse Managers and Nurse Directors and Respiratory Therapists within the unit. The NICU is designed to provide highly specialized and technically advanced care to high-risk, ill, and premature babies.
The Neonatal ICU Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing emergency management, stabilization, acute and continuous care to a caseload of neonates whose location may include the normal nursery, delivery room, transitional care unit, NICU, and during interhospital transport. The Neonatal ICU Nurse Practitioner will be an Advanced Practice Provider within the Neonatal Nursing team and will serve as a unit resource in regards to unit education and management. The Neonatal ICU Nurse Practitioner will assist in the direction of patient care and consultations with patients and families. The Neonatal ICU Nurse Practitioner will encounter a number of procedures including intubation, umbilical catheterization, thoracentesis / thoracotomy, percutaneous artery cannulation, peripheral intervenous central catheter (PICC), lumbar puncture, and bladder taps.
